Johnny here. It is true. I am a content creator at heart. It can be a for a brand or for a person, I am all in. I am the let's go for it, what are you waiting for, fly by the seat of your pants spirit behind The Hurcomb Collective. The visual of someone running and holding the hand of someone they love dragging behind them is the perfect visual for me and McKenna. I am full steam ahead and passionate. When I don't have a camera in hand you will probably find me in community with the people I love the most, fly fishing, volunteering at church, or anywhere outdoors. I consider myself a crafty man so at home projects are really fun for me. I love to spend time around a good campfire roasting s'mores because that is where some of my favorite moments in life have happened - around a fire sharing our deepest desires in life. I crave truly getting to know people and what makes them happy. Things I love? Cheez-Its. A good documentary. Being out on the boat. Hot tubs. Traveling. Seafood. The color green. Outdoor brands.
Hi friend!! I'm McKenna. So nice to meet you. I am the quiet yet bold spirit behind The Hurcomb Collective. While my better half is our extroverted, bubbly, vocal leader I love to lead from behind the scenes. I am a homebody 100%. I find so much rest in creating a peaceful home for us and for the ones that we love the most. When I am not designing you probably will find me with my pjs on, couch planted, cozy socks on with a matcha latte and a book in hand. In my less peaceful moments I am probably writing my devious plan to the next DIY project that I am going to pitch to Johnny and then we will somehow end up at Lowes and/or Target. Anybody else out there relate? While I might be a homebody that doesn't mean I don't love to travel and adventure. We are always looking to find the next place we can explore. Things that I love? A good crime documentary that I won't stop talking about for weeks. Hosting others in our home. Beautiful serif typography. Warm days and cool nights. Cinnamon swirl toast with cream cheese. Agave oat milk lattes. Our sheepadoodle gal pup, Stevie. Neutrals. Traditions.
In 2018 we met.
Johnny walked up to me in a coffee shop on the campus of Charleston Southern University asking me about something he saw about me on Instagram. I had no idea who he was and so I was like "whaaaattt". After that I saw him around a lot more while I did homework with friends in the library or ate the the caf.
In 2019 we dated long distance.
We started dating not long after all those library hangouts. We spent a lot of time together before the summer came. Then Johnny left for the summer to work as a camp counselor and when we returned he left several weeks later to travel the country with a non profit ministry. The hardest year of our relationship by far but brought us so close together.
In 2020 we got engaged.
After almost 2 and a half years of dating, through the long distance & recovering from the long distance (LOL), we got engaged November of 2020 and began to plan our wedding. It was the most perfect proposal right on the hill where you can see the sun setting behind the mountains with a cute little picnic set up.
In 2021 we got married
The moment we have all be waiting for... the marriage!! We got married in October in Greenville, SC. It has been such a special and sweet time of being married, getting our house settled, and exploring Greenville.
